               Techniques for painting

  • OIL PAINTS :- Oil colours is a medium in which ground boundaries are drawn with oil usually linseed oil is used for this purpose.
  • PASTEL COLOUR S:- These colours are available in stick like drawing or painting material consisting of ground pigments bound with gum or oil.Pastel is a form of painting in dry/soft colours and produces a powdery or soft surface.
  • WATER COLOURS:- The ground pigments mix with water and gum is a traditional method of painting. Sagar colours are available in dry cakes and tubes.
  • ACRYLIC COLOUR :- Acrylic colours are synthetic substitutes for oil colours.These are mostly soluble in water. These are used in a variety of painting techniques from wash to infesto.
  • MOSAIC DESIGN:- This technique is silly for a floor or wall, produced by inlaying small pieces of marble, glass or colourful materials.
  • MURAL PAINTING:- It is related with the decoration of walls, vaults and ceilings with any medium like tempat, fresco or encaustic painting methods.In fresco technique, colours are applied on the dry plaster.
  • GOUACHE or BODY COLOURS :- This medium of painting is related with the mixtures of white pigment with water colours. It gives the chalky finish similar to tempra painting.
  •   COMPUTER ART:-All computers make use of colour monitors like television and digital print out devices.While colour monitors display colours with red,green and blue lights.An artist engaged in producing art with computers will easily recognize that the color values are displayed only as RGB and CMYK. There is a limitation of range of colours as compared to conventional paintings. So artists are not going to be satisfied with this kind of situationeven though the printed reproduction will match almost all the colours in the painting.
